Direct from Walla Walla, WA - NBT's Chief Pilot, Derek, started crewing at age 6, received his student pilot certificate at age 14, and has continued to follow his passion for over 30 years. Derek is a decorated, 20-year Veteran of the United States Air Force, Certified Flight Instructor, and one of the most enthusiastic pilots you will meet. He has flown corporate contracts for companies like SumoFiber, Fidelity Investments, Meow Wolf, Chick-Fil-A, and maintains a perfect safety record. We couldn't be prouder to have Derek lead Utah Balloon Flights
Stephen Harrison

Certified Flight Instructor
Stephen was born in Albuquerque, NM where his love of balloning started - at only 3 weeks old, he was on Fiesta Field for his very first Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. Stephen began crewing for local pilots at an early age until deciding to seek an official FAA certification. Since that day, Stephen has been unstoppable. He has flown over 30 festivals across 4 States, as well as internationally in places like Leon, Mexico. Stephen loves "sharing ballooning with people and seeing the smiles it creates." We are proud to have Stephen represent Utah Balloon Flights.

Michelle leads our cutting-edge RC (Radio-Controlled) division. A certified RC pilot, Michelle flies 30-foot tall remote-controlled hot air balloons that carry up to four massive banners (5’ x 15’ each), With a talent for both flight and strategy, she has delivered high-impact campaigns for companies like Thanksgiving Point and Curiosity Farms. Michelle has successfully showcased these towering RC balloons at major balloon festivals across the region and continues to push the limits of visibility and engagement. We’re thrilled to have Michelle leading NBT’s RC innovation.
